Back in the Day!!!!!!!!!!!
History and Information
As found in 2004 and before restoration

Suspension is DKW with inboard drum brakes with axles to the front hubs

Last engine in was an original 68 911S block # 4081533

Restoration begins Fall of 2005

We began by disassembling the car

Removal of the old roll bar was necessary because the hoop had been cut so many times.

the frame had been shortened and then lengthened a few time throughout its life so it was necessary to repair the frame and bring it back to it original wheelbase.

After we had the 5 layers of paint media blasted we were able to begin repairing and strengthening the frame.

the rear suspension had to be brought back to its original configuration. When we began the car was set up with a 914 gearbox and an interesting rear leading arm IRS suspension.

It is now set up with a 741 Porsche transmission

The new single hoop roll bar, steering hoop, and side bars are completed

It was necessary to replace the seat cross rails.

When the car was original done it used Porsche 356 A drums inboard and when we began it had been changed over to VW Steel drums. We were able to recreate the original front brake set up from the photographs

As you can see it has a unique set up with inboard drilled Porsche drums with axles out to the hubs

Another view of the front suspension. We had all of the front suspension components Crack checked and it was all strengthened and rebuilt

The Drums are drilled to lighten them up as well as allow them to cool better.

Base was sprayed on the body.

Body is now being prepped for paint.

Painted and pinstriped

Final prep on the frame then it will get sealed and painted

Body is set on the frame one more time before the frame is painted

Frame is painted Gloss Black.

Assembly begins with the front suspension

Final assembly is taking place on the front brakes. Carbotech Green brake race shoes were installed.
